Oslotre is a leading, award-winning architecture practice specialising in timber and biological materials. Our guiding principle is to build for life. We work with architecture rooted in how buildings affect the people who use them — physically, sensorially, and over time.

Our work spans from homes and cabins to larger buildings, in collaboration with both private and public clients, in Norway and internationally. Common to all our projects is the ambition to develop buildings with positive ripple effects — thoughtful, lasting, and good to be in.

The buildings around us affect how we feel — physically, mentally, and socially. Space, materials, and light shape the conditions of everyday life, whether we are conscious of it or not.

We take as our starting point that humans are part of nature, and that architecture must therefore work for the body, the senses, the life being lived, the tasks to be solved, and our basis for living. This is the premise for everything we do.

We design buildings in timber and other biological materials, with a focus on spaces and surroundings that are good to be in.

Oslotre takes responsibility for the full architectural commission, or contributes specialist expertise where needed. The result is buildings with qualities that only become fully apparent once they are in use — from the very first moment to far into the future.
